The market
The regulated market
Ontario's regulated online gaming market opened on April 4, 2022. iGaming Ontario, known as iGO, conducts and manages online gaming through private operators. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the AGCO, regulates it. A legal private operator needs AGCO registration and an operating agreement with iGO.
OLG.ca is the government's own site, not a private operator.
iGaming Ontario keeps the official directory of regulated sites at igamingontario.ca. Regulated sites display the iGaming Ontario and BetGuard logos. Play is for people 19 or older who are physically in Ontario. Under Ontario's Gaming Control Act, 1992, no one under 19 may enter or stay in a casino. Online casino play carries the same 19+ rule.

Ads on this guide
Paid links appear on the home page only, and each is marked Ad. They are a button in the header, a block just below the first screen and a block near the end of the page. All of them lead to one private online casino partner. That partner pays the guide a commission and can change.
Ontario rules forbid gambling ads that offer inducements, link gambling to status or attractiveness, or present winning as likely. None of that appears here. BetGuard, run by iGaming Ontario at betguard.ca, lets a person opt out of all regulated online gaming sites in Ontario. That includes OLG.ca, for 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom term. It does not cover land-based casinos.
